Songs in Ursa Major

Title: Songs in Ursa Major

Author: Emma Brodie

Publisher: Random House Audio

ISBN: n/a

Thoughts: Brodie paints what feels like an authentic picture of the music scene in the late 60s with vivid characters and an engaging story, but a rather lackluster ending.

Filthy Animals

Title: Filthy Animals

Author: Brandon Taylor

Publisher: Penguin Audio

ISBN: 9780593412572

Thoughts: I liked all of Taylor's characters, but I had a hard time figuring out how all of these stories fit together, or if they even did, despite Lionel/Charles/Sophie's story being woven throughout.

Title: Hitty: Her First Hundred Years

Author: Rachel Field

Publisher: Simon Schuster Books for Young Readers

ISBN: 9780027348408

Thoughts: Very interesting to read children's historical fiction written a century ago; some passages would not be considered acceptable today, but it has may salient qualities as a piece of history.

Stolen Prophet

Title: Stolen Prophet

Author: Julian M. Coleman

Publisher: self

ISBN: n/a

Thoughts: There were some very interesting and engaging ideas, plot points, and characters in this, but the whole story felt very disjointed by following so many different characters, offering long expositions on all of them that often even included unnecessary sexual content, but never really getting to the meat of story for long, or even connecting all of the concepts presented. I was given a free copy of the audiobook through LibraryThing to listen to and give an honest review.
