In the Box: May 2015 Fresh Fiction Box Not to Miss

Fresh Fiction, a great website for author news and giveaways (mainly romance), has decided to start their own monthly box.  Each box will have a paperback and 3-6 ebooks, along with swag, for $25 a month (you can skip months).  They also claim that no two boxes will be the same, and from other reviews and pictures I have seen, there have indeed been small differences.
The paperback I received was Fatal Affair by Marie Force.  I do like romantic suspense, so this was not a bad choice for me.  The ebooks I received links/codes for were Love Letters from a Cowboy by Lacy Williams, Better than Chocolate by Shelia Roberts, Secret of the Painted Lady by Elizabeth Ashby & Christina A Burke, Through My Window by Jane Rylon, and To Light the Dragon's Fire by Margaret Taylor.  Better than Chocolate was an Adobe Reader file, which I am not crazy about because the only computer I have the program on is one I do not use.  Of all the books I received, Secret of the Painted Lady seems to be the one I will like best since I love cozies.
The best swag was definitely this great Harlequin tote back.  It is very sturdy and has a ton of pockets.  And the taffy - cannot forget the taffy which I ate immediately after taking the picture.  I also found the screen cloth useful, but the koozie and lip balm are items I could take or leave.
All in all, I was very pleased with this first Fresh Fiction Box Not to Miss.  I have a lot of books, so it was great to find a sub that focuses on ebooks.

Confessions of a Murder Suspect

Title: Confessions of a Murder Suspect
Author: James Patterson & Maxine Paetro
Publisher: Hachette
ISBN: 9781619691971
Why Read?: For Fun
Challenges: n/a

Thoughts: Tandy Angel is a great protagonist, unfortunately, I have always had a problem with Patterson's writing, and this is no exception.  There was a red herring, but the denouement came way out of left field.  Plus, there was a major loose end.

Author: Stephen King
Publisher: Signet
ISBN: 0-451-16052-5
Why Read?: Book Club

Thoughts: Some of this seems disjointed, but some was brilliant.  Definitely left me with mixed feelings.
